Prodigy Payment Systems Announces Check 21 Capability Update to Clear Charge POS Software
Addison, TX. – July, 31 2009 - Richardson, TX based Prodigy Payment Systems, www.ProdigyPay.com, a leading merchant services provider, recently announced the roll out of a major update to Clear Charge, its feature point of sale software.
Utilizing a USB RDM 7000i imager, Clear Charge enables dual-sided images so merchants can easily retain a copy of both the front and back of a check.
Clear Charge is POS software that, when installed on any computer, enables it to become a fully-functioning payment processing terminal. Clear Charge can process credit, debit, checks, EBT and gift and loyalty cards. Clear Charge is PCI and PED compliant because it does not store cardholder data on the machine through utilization of host data capture.
Check 21, also known as the Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act, was enacted in October 2004 and allows checks to be deposited electronically and scanned to capture the image, which speeds up fund transfers and makes accepting checks more secure.
Prodigy Payment Systems' merchants who choose Clear Charge receive automatic updates on future enhancements included in their standard pricing. Past updates implemented multi-merchant capabilities, making it possible for Clear Charge to process up to 9 different merchant accounts on one system.
Plans for future enhancements currently include internal reporting features providing daily, weekly and monthly reports for each separate payment category.
